The Mulberry and Island WWTP upgrade project involved the expansion of the existing Mulberry WWTP from 1.1 mgd to 2.2 mgd, and aeration upgrades to the existing Island WWTP.
To achieve the Mulberry expansion a new clarifier, aeration basin, filtration system, UV disinfection system, blowers, odor control system, and I&C/electrical systems were constructed. As the general contractor, KEAR self performed all structural concrete, process piping, equipment installation, and startup activities while coordinat-ing the subcontracted electrical, masonry and I&C. | Project Description: |
KEAR Civil Corporation provided complete installation, testing and flushing services for the installation of over 2,600 LF of 20” fuel pipeline at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport. The pipeline was constructed by KEAR for Swissport Fueling, to allow for a complete fuel loop between the existing Terminal 2 and Terminal 3 gates. The project also consisted of the construction of two new isolation valve pits for the future airport expansion, and one new isolation valve pit for fuel flow control. The pipeline was constructed adjacent to active taxi-ways, under traffic control utilities and involved the jack-and-bore of the 20” pipeline under two active taxiways. KEAR successfully completed the 20” project with minimal impact to the fast track taxiway construction being performed by Kiewit Western. |

Spectra Electrical Services subcontracted KEAR to provide primary power installation services for the new Fire Station No.2 in Paradise Valley. The project included the installation of primary power duct-bank across Lincoln Drive extending onsite to the new Fire Station building. KEAR provided all excavation, barricading, spoils removal, conduit installation, concrete, backfill, and asphalt replacement services. The project was executed with close coordination with APS and in accordance with their construction standards and requirements. The project was completed within the general contractor’s schedule requirements with minimal impact to surrounding business and residences. |
